[3891]
He had performed on the continent with his family in the 1760s and was regularly seen at the Paris Opera House as a principal dancer. He was the Director of the Theatrical Dance School at the Viennese Opera House until 1774, after which he came to London. He performed for many years at the King's Theatre and at Drury Lane Theatre and other venues and was also a choreographer, ballet master (Drury Lane) and first violinist in the King's Theatre when he was too old to dance. The family lived at 5 Dover St, Piccadilly until 1784 and then at 33 Pall Mall.
