William Charles Thompson arrived to Buenos Aires in 1832 to join his brother, chaierman of the firm Diego C. Thompson y Cia. or J. C. Thompson & Co. He was one of the first members of the Bolsa de Comercio, of the Club de Residentes Extranjeros, and the masonry loggia Excelsior.
