Charles Shoobridge came to Peru to work in an English Bank. Afterwards, in the early 20s, he was the main advisor and secretary of the Peruvian president Augusto B. Leguia . When he left this position, he moved to the north of Peru to manage Maria's family farms (Tolon, Ventanillas, Pitura, El Horcon). He stayed in there for four years, when he decided to come back to Lima in order to work for the Backus & Johnston Brewery. Later on, he worked for Faucett Airlines. These companies were founded by British descendants in Peru.
