Benjamin Frank studied medicine in Amsterdam. He graduated on 26 November 1916. In April 1942 he moved in Amsterdam from 22 Vijzelstraat to 139 Maasstraat.
Benjamin Frank was a well-known chess player. He was a member of the Vereenigd Amsterdamsch Schaak Genootschap. In 1924 he won the Van Dien Cup (best game of the season).
