[1387]
George Rowe arrived in Buenos Aires in 1825 with his mother Phoebe Vinal, his sisters Harriet and Eliza, and his stepfather John Alexander, in a steamship arranged by the Agricultural Company of the River Plate, a frustrated project of John Barber Beaumont which intended to establish a large colony of English inmigrants in Entre Ríos.
He and his family managed to stay in Argentina. He married Susannah Thompson, daughter of the second marriage of John Thompson, in 1840. He died in Buenos Aires in 1845. He had three children before, and one more was born after his death.
